Our approach
POPCORN-NCD is being developed following the EQUATOR Network methodology for reporting guideline development. This rigorous, internationally-recognized approach ensures:
- Evidence-based content through systematic scoping reviews
- International consensus via multi-round e-Delphi surveys
- Diverse perspectives from researchers, editors, and knowledge users
- Transparent development with open sharing of materials and progress
- Broad applicability across geographical regions and model types
Five-step development process

Establish the Scientific Advisory Group
- Agree on the reporting guideline scope
- Provide ongoing guidance on development and implementation strategy

Generate candidate reporting guideline checklist items
- Conduct scoping reviews to extract relevant items for e-Delphi
- Review candidate items to establish the organization, completeness, and redundancy of the candidate items list

Perform the international e-Delphi survey
- Recruit, screen, and register international participants for the e-Delphi survey
- Conduct a two-round evaluation of candidate items

Conduct consensus and writing meetings
- Obtain expert consensus on the final list of checklist items
- Develop the reporting guideline with checklist, explanation and elaboration document, and implementation tools
